Jen Silverman’s THE ROOMMATE offers the rare opportunity to witness two mega stars play off one another in an intimate setting. In Iowa Sharon (Mia Farrow) welcomes a new roommate Robyn (Patti LuPone). The two could not be more different. Mysterious Robyn is coming in from the rough-and-tumble Bronx, and that leaves inquisitive Sharon with plenty of questions and opportunities to be amazed (appalled?). Together they manage to form an unlikely bond.

The beauty of this production is the privilege of watching the masters doing their job. Farrow is meekly innocent until she isn’t, and LuPone has the tough-veneer-with-a-heart-of-gold city gal down pat. Sophisticated humor played to perfection makes THE ROOMMATE a delight.
