Victor L. Cahn presents a group of mysterious and nefarious ladies in
VILLAINOUS COMPANY. Unassuming and demur Claire (Corey Tazmania)
has discovered a package is missing from her latest shopping venture. As she
tries to work this problem out over the phone, effervescent Tracy (Alice
Bahlke) shows up at her door offering service with a smile and a
life-changing secret. Just when you may have figured out at least some part of
this diabolical plot, commanding Joanna (Julia Campanelli)
unexpectedly joins the party with a couple of secrets of her own. These three
ladies do a marvelous job of presenting quirky characters while maintaining a
complex and compelling storyline.
Cahn dangles the carrot of letting you know something sinister is afoot but the twists and turns, along with slightly-off characters, prevent you from narrowing down exactly what that is. VILLANOUS COMPANY is entertaining and a delightful reminder that things are rarely as they seem.
