What does one need to survive the loss of a partner? Resilience, hope, freedom to despair, grit and guts, maybe a little help from a professional, and courage to keep on going are just a few attributes needed, and ONCE IN A LIFETIME, AGAIN has them all.  Jessie (Cooper Grodin) writes songs to express his emotional roller coaster ride, an act encouraged by the psychiatrist he is forced to visit (Thursday Farrar). Along the way, he encounters many women, all magnificently portrayed by Jenny Lee Stern. As he grapples with entering the dating world, survivor’s guilt, and just out-and-out grief, the songs keep the beat.

Stephen H. Gardner’s ONCE IN THIS LIFETIME, AGAIN is a rollicking musical full of original songs, sophisticated humor, innovative choreography that is impressive for its small-space allowance, and a heartfelt storyline for adults. You will leave wanting more, and luckily, all the songs are on the website above. Keep your fingers crossed that this is not the last we have heard of this musical. Definitely worthy of a larger stage!
