The weather outside is frightful, but inside at Theatre Row the stage is hot in Jayson McDonald’s MERCURY. The temperature is rising as three lives – a prostitute/student, a career woman, and a police detective – interweave. McDonald has blurred time and circumstances as the three slide into each other’s characters as smoothly as mercury. Kudos to Avery Baxter, Nelia McNicol, and Indiana Robinson -Dawes who do a remarkable job in each role tackling love, need, and logic as required. MERCURY – the lines and distinctions are slippery, but the acting is impressive.
