Fasten your seat belts because you are in for a roller-coaster ride with Tommy Vines’ HOW TO PUT DOWN THE WEIGHT OF YOUR PAST. Defining itself as a self-help class that will change your life, you already know that this will not be your usual theatrical presentation. There are 20 “lessons,” lots of interaction with the audience in a small intimate setting (are you getting uncomfortable already? That’s the idea!), and some mighty fine acting by Nameless (Tommy Vines) and The Other One (Kirsten Kilburn). You will experience drama, humor, and maybe a bit of self-recognition. Very clever to have participants write down what is concerning them at the beginning of the class. After watching Nameless’ performance and stark revelations, you will be more than glad to leave your troubles behind sealed in a cardboard box. So maybe HOW TO PUT DOWN THE WEIGHT OF YOUR PAST does keep its promise of changing your life.
